HIRAX: New Album Update
December 25, 2008Reactivated Long Beach, California thrashers HIRAX have issued the following update:
"HIRAX is in heavy writing mode to finish up our new epic CD/vinyl release 'El Rostro de la Muerte' (Spanish for "The Face Of Death"). This will be the heaviest album that HIRAX has ever recorded. We are very excited because the new songs are some of the best work that we have ever done! Expect 'El Rostro de la Muerte' to be released spring 2009. Then the band will hit the road and the touring will begin!!"
The follow-up to last year's acclaimed EP "Assassins Of War", "El Rostro de la Muerte" is being recorded with producer John Haddad. This will be the band's first full-length since the 2004 release "The New Age Of Terror". The album will also include re-recordings of classic HIRAX tracks "Broken Neck" and "Blind Faith" as well as the bonus track "Chaos And Brutality" from the European EP released last year.
"Some of the song titles are inspired by the religious fanatics in the United States and the hypocrisy surrounding church and state," HIRAX vocalist Katon W. De Pena previously said. "There are tracks which deal with morals of mankind, and there is a bit of war influence; naturally, because there is so much of it still going on all over the world. There are a lot of dark subjects on this new album as well, which reflects the overall concept of the music. I have no doubt in my mind that this will be our heaviest and most intense record to date!!"
